A taste of AFRICA in the HEART of Livermore: Sharing Arts and Culture
Cheza Nami Foundation, Inc hosted a magical afternoon of Pan African art, dance, music, food and fashion at the Bothwell Arts Center in Livermore on October 19, 2014. The event will featured our Children's interactive room "the safari room" where kids can explore African culture through games, crafts and books as well as a photo opportunity with Tano, Mali and Twiga at the "manzili", a hut created by camp participants in our 2014 Kids diversity and Culture camp. This event was in collaboration with African visual and performance artists This special family event gave community members a tangible experience of African culture through touch, taste and conversation. Activities included an African market, children's crafts, a safari room, a fashion show, musical performances, African drumming and dance as well as a raffle and silent auction
